How Much Does an Average Website Cost?

This is a question that is often asked by businesses that are trying to price out companies for web design and development. Before we get started I want to note that there is a difference between website design, website development, and web marketing. The differences are listed below:

Website Design – creating the overall layout, design/look and feel of a website. Developing the flow of how a page will look or where the content of the site will be placed.
Website Development – Taking the website design and bringing it to life via HTML/CSS and/or other web scripting/programming languages. Also, website development is the process of adding additional functionality to an existing website such as eCommerce, content management systems, and etc…
Web Marketing – taking the designed and developed website and promoting it via the web. Using outlets such as social media, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click, and etc…

These services are usually intertwined when a company or person is explaining that they need web work done. With that out of the way let’s go into the reasons why web companies/freelancers charge what they charge and how they come up with their price.

How is price determined?

There are many aspects to consider when pricing out a project, but the main one is time. A freelancer/web firm will listen to you (the prospective client) explain the website of your dreams and from there they will base the price around what was discussed.

Some things that will increase the price are, the time frame in which the project is to be completed, support, consultation, or detouring from the original scope of work.

Other factors that go into creating a price quote for web services are the amount of resources, experience, and knowledge of the professional(s). The more value that can be offered the higher the price quote will be. For instance freelancers are often only equipped to perform one or two services while a team of web professionals are prepared to deliver in all areas.

Solutions such as templates, website builders, or other out of the box services can be priced fairly cheap due to the lack of customization. Also, note that some of these services have recurring monthly or yearly fees.

How will I be billed?

There are a couple of common ways to bill; one is to require half up front and half on delivery of the project. Let’s say that the grand total of your project is 00.00 before any work could be initiated you would be required to put down 50%. The other 50% is due after the agreed upon scope of work is completed. Other variations can be a 50% upfront, 25% on first set of deliverables, and the final 25% on project completion.

Another way is to be billed hourly. Being billed hourly seems to be the less popular way when getting a website developed. Most of the time billing hourly comes into play when providing advice or after a project runs longer than expected. Monthly fees usually occur with web hosting packages or if you agree to some type of maintenance plan.

What does the standard website package come with?

This will be based on what you have explained to the professional and what they can offer you. If you express that you need a website redesign you will get website design. If you say that you need to rank higher on Google or Yahoo then web marketing will be the primary focus.

As stated before each scenario and each company or freelancer is limited to the skills that they have acquired. Generally speaking if you have no website at bare minimum you should be offered a domain and hosting package (to keep your files and make them visible by visitors). Although, the company that you choose to take care of your web project may not have in house servers they usually know or work closely with a web host.

Should I budget for my web project?

The answer is yes, however if you have never had a site developed before it may be wise to ask others website owners how much they spent on their website. Ask others how the process went and what items/materials you need before you go calling every web company in town. Keep in mind that websites should be built with room to scale with the growth of your company, unless specified otherwise. Today your need may only be to have an online location to display information about your products or services and tomorrow you may need to provide a way for your customers to order online. A well thought out website will be able to handle this transition.

Determine what you need your site to do for you – do you need to inform others on the services or types of products that you sell? Do you need to sell items online? Do you need to create an online community revolved around a theme or set of topics? Write out how a website will help leverage your business, or if you are doing business solely on the web explain in greater detail the process on how you will make money or see a return. A brief explanation is always nice to hand over to a web specialist so that they can have a little guidance and understanding on what is valuable to you, also it will let them make suggestions based on what has worked for previous clients.

Show me the numbers… what can I expect to pay?

If you are like me you want to have a general idea on how much something cost so you do not have to waste time on calling around only find out that you are not prepared. So, I have put together some generic numbers to help illustrate how much you should expect to spend. Keep in mind that these prices are not in relation to any one company they are just the ranges of what I have seen or heard. Also, remember that each firm/freelancer charges differently, you may have to pay all up front, half, 25% or make some type of deposit to get work started.

On with the prices!

Simplistic Brochure Website (next to no functionality/no dynamic content)

This is a great place to start out at if you have never had a website created before. Typically the services included are a custom web design and HTML/CSS coding to bring the design to life. If anything such as a contact form, animation(s), or anything extra outside of the design and development scope you will be charged extra. Remember these are the lowest prices I have seen or heard of, I am not claiming that you will receive superior craftsmanship at these prices but it will certainly get you a website.

Freelance price: 0.00 +

Web firm price: 00.00 +

Expert Advice: Always strive to have work done by the most professional and service friendly. The higher price does not always reflect skill or more importantly people skills. A lot of my clients are ones who have made a switch from a company that never answers the phone or doesn’t do what they are supposed to do. Dig deeper than the portfolio, do not ignore it just dig a little deeper and see how he/she handles business.

eCommerce Website (add/edit/delete products or information)

eCommerce websites can and should be used in addition to your physical store front. The only difference is that the physical more than likely closes at night and the online location stays open day and night – year round. When looking to get an eCommerce website built you should consider the ease of use (adding/deleting/editing items in the inventory), stability, and how well does it integrate with your current site (assuming you have one).

Freelance Price: 0.00 +

Web firm Price: 00.00 +

Expert Advice: If you do not have a 00.00 plus budget I would suggest going with a freelancer or student. Start out small and upgrade! It makes no sense to pour tons of money into something that you have no idea on where it will lead you. If you are a start up company focus on bringing in revenue first and come back and get the bells and whistles. However, make sure that you will end up with a professional and presentable site; no one will buy if the site doesn’t look legit. Remember, money doesn’t automatically go into your bank account if you spend 00.00 bucks on a website. Evaluate where your business is now and think about where you would like your website to help take it in the near future.

Interactive Website (add/edit/delete content, publish articles, visitor engagement)

Interactive websites are websites that keep your attention and have you coming back hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, etc… These sites are ones that display your favorite celebrity gossip, catch up on sports scores, or watch funny videos online. These sites are database driven and heavy on the dynamic content. Because, these sites are reliant on a database and require heavy back end programming the price sky rockets. Also, these sites are often found by search engines and have a way of self marketing themselves based off of their content.

Freelance Price: N/A

Web Firm Price: ,000.00 +

Expert Advice: If you have never had a website built before I would suggest looking for free or low priced alternatives. There are plenty out of the box solutions that will get the ball rolling, you can always upgrade later. Also, if you are just starting out on the web creating or finding fresh content may be overwhelming at first. Sites like these tend to snowball and turn into a frequently visited site, unless you have tons of marketing dollars to back it up.

No matter which way you plan to go always think ahead and be prepare yourself for the amount of time and money you may have to put in for your business to take that next step, or to serve your customers better and faster. As I stated earlier in this article evaluate where your business is now and think about where you would like your website to help take it in the near future. Define your goals up front and be sure not to over or under do it and if you are not sure, always get a second opinion.

sbobet

The best way for bettors to foresee the results of the game accurately is by football betting spreads. If you are already experienced when it comes to betting, you will know that there are two general kinds of bets that can be made. The first type is the Fixed Odds or Money Line. In this kind of bet, the money gambled will be specifically placed on a team for them to win the game. The disadvantage with this kind of bet is that sports books do not make lots of money with this kind. This is because it makes it so easy for fans of a specific sports like for football for instance to know the players and the odds of a team winning. Most of the time, these fans are right on. So, to be able to give some steadiness to the sports books, they use what is called the points spread.

The football betting spreads as mentioned before makes it easier for bettors to foresee the game results accurately. How is this done, you may ask? The bettor will simply choose the team who will be able to beat the spread. This works better rather than just making guesses based on research on who will win or lose the game. To be able to beat the spread, the team who was chosen should be able to have total points and spread points that will be higher than that of the total points of the opponent team. If that definition did not seem clear to you, here is a specific example:

You do have to understand that points spread betting gets the most attention out of all the betting techniques. In this kind, the scores are most likely to be higher than the usual and the point value as well. For example in a professional football league, the score was:

o New York -3.5

o Washington +3.5

In this situational example, Washington is the runner up. Betting on the Washington team, you will be getting the points as indicated by the plus sign. In case at the end of the game, the Washington team will lose, you could still win your bet. How can you still win if your team lost? If you have used the point spread betting, you will know for a fact that if your team only lost by less than three points or equal to that, you can still win. Another way to win is if the game was tied or obviously, if your team have won.

You might notice that there are half points used in football betting spreads. This just makes the betting a little more exciting because you put more knowledge into it than merely relying on pure luck. By putting half points, it also decreases the chance of having a tied game. In a time game, all the bets are returned to the ones who placed bets. Choose betting spreads for this is the more popular one in terms of betting and this also has a higher amount of winnings than other types of betting.

2010 Football Predictions – Baylor Bears

Expectations for the 2010 Baylor Bears on College Football Predictions is finally reaching bowl status. Word out of Waco, Texas is the Bears will finally end the 15 years post season drought, and this sports handicapper will second that. The 2010 season should be one of optimism, and the reason is Robert Griffin, the multi talented quarterback will be under center this season after missing all of 2009 with a torn ACL. The Bears also have more defensive speed than usual and two prospects in the secondary with coverage ability not seen in more than a decade at the school, maybe back further when safety Thomas Everett and cornerback Ron Francis played in the secondary. The schedule is also favorable for the Bears, six of their first eight opponents were 500 or under last season. The schedule is so favorable that it could be a possibility that the Bears could face Texas for the Big 12 south lead when they play on October 30th.

The Baylor Bears finished 4-8 in 2009, with a 6-6 record against the spread, going over the betting odds total 4 times and under 8 times. The offense ranked 85th overs in the FBS, averaging 342.9 yards per game, the passing game ranked 37th overall in college football, averaging a little over 242 yards per contest, the running game was not even close to being efficient, the Bears rushed for 100.6, yards per contest and that ranked 109th and the Baylor scored 20 points per game. The defense gave up over 405 yards per game, that ranked 94th in college football, the run defense was terrible, giving up 178.8 yards per contest, that ranked 97th in the FBS, the team also allowed over 27 points per game.

Quarterback Robert Griffin has the speed of world class hurdler and uses it effectively. He rushed for 843 as a true freshman in 2008 and threw for over 2,000 yards, with 15 touchdowns. This sports handicapper believes this guy will be on some all American teams in 2010. Griffin will have a mammoth offensive line to protect him, that maybe the best the Bears have had in a long time. Baylor coach Art Briles is hoping the running game goes better with the huge line, it will probably be running back by committee. Wide receivers Kendall Wright and Josh Gordon will be a formidable tandem.

Nose tackle Phil Taylor, a transfer form Penn State has lost 20 pounds, in an attempt to make amends for a disappointing 2009 season. The Bears should be faster and more athletic on the defensive line. The secondary will be very good with Prince Kent, a prized recruit who originally committed to Miami. Ahmad Dixon will also be in the mix and could even play some linebacker, where Antonio Johnson is the only returning starter, redshirt freshman Chris McAllister has drawn raves and letterman Earl Patin and Chris Francis are also productive. The outlook for the Baylor Bears is very good in 2010.

Zone Blocking For Youth Football Teams

There are many differences between youth football players and College, Pro and High School players. To say the difference is night and day would not do justice to how different they are. It would be like the differences in the beauty of Miss America and the 1,000 pound bearded lady at the State Fair.

College, Pro and even High School players practice 6 days a week and play their games on a 7th day. Most of these guys practice 20-30 hours each week, youth football teams practice from 4-8 hours every week. Pro, College and High School players have played the game for 7-25 years, they have the basics down, they know the game. Youth football players have 1-2 years of experience and many youth teams are made up of a majority of kids that have never played before. Most youth football players don’t know the difference between a 3 technique and a footstool. Pro, College and High School kids are 16-35 years old, they can move faster, control their bodies better and retain and process much more information than youth football players. Pro, College and High School teams cut weak players, they are the best of the best. The pros and college teams cut kids every day that were the best players in their respective youth and High School teams. Even the High Schools cut weaker players, they also send weaker kids to JV or Reserve teams.

Pro, College and even some High School players are being taught by coaches that coach for a living. Most devote 50-70 hour weeks to learning their craft and most have 10-15 years of experience playing the game. This compares to the amount of experience and time a youth coach can spend on developing himself as a coach, which for most doesn’t even allow for the time to go to a single weekend coaches clinic or the purchase of a single Coaching Book or DVD. The difference in the levels of coaching expertise is just huge, yet a youth coach with no experience with complex zone blocking is going to teach it to others?

In a nutshell Pro, College and even most High School teams are made up of great players athletically compared to the typical youth football player that will never play High School football let alone even sniff at College or Pro Football. Youth teams are made up of a very limited amount of players, you cant send the kids down to JV, Reserve or Frosh teams, and you can’t cut them. In fact you are going to play them, some probably will even start on your offensive line. While I have been blessed with talent on some of my teams, others had offensive lines that looked like the characters from the “Land of Misfit Toys.”

By the time the youth kids get to High School, most of the real weak players have already quit playing, realizing football is just not their game. But today on your youth football team, these kids are still playing, still trying to figure out how to play and if this is their game. At the youth level in most leagues, everyone has to play some and most often you are going to have some unathletic players playing offensive line. Thast playing, not being cut or sent down to another team.

Pro, College and High School teams are not required to play all their kids, most youth teams do require you play everyone at least for a handful of plays. These less athletic kids are then playing a postion that greatly impacts every single play (offensive line) and they are going to zone block? Okay, that’s great if I’m the defensive coordinator of the other team, but terrible if I’m the running back or the dad of the poor running back on the zone blocking team.

This is how perfectly good youth football players get soured on the game and quit and become part of the 70% of youth players that never play a down of High School football. It’s a real shame and is the main reason I wrote the book, do all the clinics and developed the DVDs. Too many good kids get run off of playing football by poor coaches and terrible schemes, no wonder so many High School and Youth Football programs have love/hate relationships.

On the technical side, the zone schemes cornerstone is the “combo” block, where the offensive linemen gets an initial push on a defensive linemen, then comes off the block once good movement has been made, to then block a linebacker. This block mind you is blocked based on the type of defensive front the offensive linemen sees and can recognize, often involving line calls. This would be quite a lot to ask from a 9 year old youth player maybe playing his first game. Most kids that age are still struggling to figure out how to make a sound drive block on a player within 1 foot of them and making sure they remember to block on offense and tackle on defense.

Most High School teams can’t even zone block well with Spring Football, year round football workouts, excellent offensive line coaches and 6 days a week practice. And you are going to do it successfully with youth players? With team sizes of 24-25 for many teams, your worst athletes are playing offensive line. So you are going to ask this weaker player to recognize the front correctly, make the right line call, make an effective double team block, get movement on a double team block, spy the linebacker at the same time, then know when to peel off at the exact right time and block the speedy and strong linebacker “in space” on the run on the same play?

So one of your least athletic kids is going to spy and track down and block in open space the other teams fastest and most athletic player (linebacker) after engaging another linemen? Wow that will be quite an accomplishment akin to building an atomic bomb out of a few leftover juice cans and some old mothballs, good luck pulling that all off. If you can teach that at the youth level, you have a Select Football team, should be playing in the National Championship game and as a coach should be coaching O-Line in the NFL. Zone blocking takes GREAT coaching, lots of time, excellent athletic linemen and savy smart experienced football players that can recognize fronts and have impeccable timing, none of which is in abundance at the youth football level.

Simple rule blocking using angles and overwhelming numbers in limited space is what works within the constraints of youth football and is what we teach in the book and DVDs. Zone blocking will fail and frustrate the kids and coaches. It did not surprise me that this zone blocking suggestion came from one of those one-dimensional fails-every-time youth coaches that uses such failed and useless tactics like “attack the center”. Probably uses the famous “Hit Somebody” phrase and runs kids to death in football practice, then wonders why his teams can’t win any games.

No doubt when this guys team loses, he’s the one that blames it all on a lack of talent (every year) or “the kids just didn’t want it bad enough”. Geez I tire of these kind of guys, they ruin so many kids and teams. Unfortunately we see too many coaches like that in our game and is one of the main reasons over 70% of youth football players never go on to play High School football, it’s a shame to see.

When coaching youth football, it’s your job to pick out a scheme that will work with the talent levels, athleticism, maturity, practice time and coaching ability you have available. Playing a youth football team trying to zone block would be like shooting fish in a barrel, the poor running backs, the horror, the horror.

At the onset, I would like to tell you that there is absolutely no soccer betting system that can guarantee you a win each time you play. Such a system does not and cannot exist.

However, to a very large extent, you can make a NET gain, which means you win very much more than you lose. This is possible only when you follow a dedicated and reliable system. If you make random guesses and bets about soccer results, in the long run you will end up gaining nothing at all, even if in the short term you win good money.

Therefore if you want to maintain momentum and have a sustainable flow of income, then it is imperative for follow a soccer betting system.

Some people do not believe on system because no system can last ever. Well, it’s quite true. However, a good soccer betting system is created based on probability and statistical analysis of all the most current and previous data of the teams and players.

This reduces your risk and chances of losing while improving your chances of success. This means over a longer run, you can end up making money off the system. It is obviously, better than throwing your hard earn cash placing bets without having any mathematical and statistical backups.

Understanding the inherent nature of unpredictability, you should therefore bet with utmost discipline while following a soccer betting system. This is very important and vital to your success as a bettor. These systems are time tested and verified by experts and professionals of the highest caliber. This means all you need to do is to follow the system and you will make money. All you need to do is keep your emotions in control during a winning or losing streak.

The main thing to remember when using any soccer betting system is that you have to stick to it and don’t start panicking and looking elsewhere when the going gets tough. There is no soccer betting system in the world that will win every week but unfortunately what usually happens is that when a couple of weeks goes by without the required results people simply give up.

They then look for yet another soccer betting system and then the whole cycle begins again, another bad run and they give up.

If you are honest with yourself and admit that this is the kind of thing that you are likely to do it may be worthwhile to test run two or three soccer betting systems at the same time, recording all hypothetical bets and winnings for each to establish the most profitable over a period of time. Then you can select that one and follow it with real money – or you may discover that when one system has a bit of a losing run the others will see it through so you should “go live” with them all!

Running a portfolio of soccer betting systems in this way can prove to be highly profitable but you really do have to be strict with yourself and not start chopping and changing or you could find yourself in a real mess. You should operate each system totally separately to the others with its own “betting bank” and “staking plan”. You should not mix up the funds between the systems.

I advise using only one system and sticking with it. If you have carried out your research beforehand you will have convinced yourself that it has a good record over the long run so trust your initial instincts and just stick with it.

You will find that most successful soccer betting systems will specialise in one particular type of bet or concentrate on certain leagues around the world and by sticking rigidly to the selections given should yield good profits.

One mistake that I often come across is when people apply their own rules and make their own selections or add selections here and there. I can’t see the point of them using the system in the first place if they are not going to strictly follow the selections given. By all means choose your own bets but when you do make sure they are funded separately to your system bank and placed apart from the system selections. In this way and by strictly recording all bets and their outcome you will be able to measure the real benefit of following any particular soccer betting system.
